Let's get to the detox methods I'm using. In the picture below I'm on my Biomat Professional. You can see what they look like here. I set the timer for 2 hours and turn the temperature up to the detox setting. Over that time period, the temperature goes as high as 158 degrees. People with Lyme don't do well when they're overheated. I've had HUGE problems with this ever since I was little. It's the reason why I didn't do marching band in high school. I would have passed out every day. So, needless to say, when I do this I get quite sick. The mat came with an emergency blanket, which is really just a heavy tarp on one side and metallic on the other. I wrap it around me to keep the heat in. The Biomat is filled with 18 pounds of amethyst crystals. The mat heats the crystals which, in turn, heats the body. This is a far-infrared mat. It was determined that I would benefit more from this than going to far-infrared saunas. Far-infrared saunas are not the ones you find in the YMCA or any other gym, so I can't just go to any sauna.
After the Biomat, I use a castor oil pack on my liver. Here is where you can read about those. I keep that on for about an hour. It's great for detoxing your liver. I'm also back on the TriFortify Orange Liposomal Glutathione. Click on the name for further information. This is the supplement that made me so sick a couple of weeks ago. The regular dose is 1 tsp. sublingual (under the tongue) for 1 minute. It smells like sulfur and tastes even worse than Mepron. It was recommended that I start at 1/2 tsp. for 10 days to see how I did. I did not fare well. After 5-6 days I felt so sick and ended up spending over 16 hours in bed on that last day. I was advised that if it caused flu-like symptoms (which it probably would and is exactly what it did) to discontinue use, wait a few days, and start back at half of that dose. I made it through those 10 days of 1/4 tsp. and just upped it to 1/2 tsp. again a couple of days ago. Now, it feels like I've been hit by a Mack truck.
Here are 11 things that can cause a person with Lyme to feel worse.
1. Lack of sleep
2. Deep tissue massage
3. Shower
4. Detoxing
5. Food
6. Chemicals
7. Temperature
8. The moon
9. Exercise
10. Sex
11. High stress
You can read about them in detail here.
I can honestly say that this is a comprehensive list. I can't think of anything else they could possibly add. The trick is to find a balance with detoxing and managing the 11 things that can make you feel worse. You have to do that in addition to everything else you need to do in order to get well. It's a full-time job.
